Puppy Inquiries

Please read this before contacting us for puppy inquiries:

At Garrison, our goal is to breed for quality, not quantity. We breed litters only occasionally and set our goals to improve the breed. We also believe in versatility when breeding Aussies. We want to breed true all-around Aussies with sound temperament, natural working instincts, intelligence and moderate medium-boned structure that shows agility and endurance. The Aussies we breed will be biddable, have brains, drive and capability for all performance events from herding and agility to tracking and obedience. Natural working instinct and ability to independently problem solve is an essential quality of this breed. We are not interested in breeding only for looks and not including intelligence or soundness.

Beauty, health, brains and temperament combined in one fabulous package is our ultimate goal at Garrison. We strive to produce puppies that are active

We prefer versatile lines in our breeding and we look for more than just conformation CH's in the pedigrees. Our Aussies have several working titles in their pedigrees from Working Trial Champions to herding titles on sheep, ducks, cattle, and also titles from Obedience, Agility, Flyball, and Therapy Dog. We appreciate those titles very much as they mean that the lines behind our Aussies are highly versatile and trainable, they can do it all. Being a conformation champion doesn't mean that the dog is capable of actual performance. We will not take puppy reservations by coat colour or looks alone.

We hope to produce puppies that will be active, intelligent and lively with typical strong Aussie herding and guardian instincts. They will require 100% commitment from their owners, they don't deserve any less. Garrison puppies are available only to homes that understand and appreciate the true Aussie character, and who are prepared to share their lives with their Aussies, give them problems to solve and tasks to carry out and love them like crazy.

We will not take bookings by coat color alone or other qualities based on how a puppy should look, instead we reserve the right to match the right puppy with the right owner based on the needs of the puppy buyer of the dog's temperament. We don't believe you or the dog would benefit getting an Aussie that doesn't have a suitable temperament for you.

Please know that our pups are very important to us and we want to be sure that they go homes that are right for them. We are responsible for producing these lives and will remain responsible for them. If for some reason a Garrison dog cannot continue to live with it's owners, we commit to taking them back and ensuring we help them find a loving forever home. To try to avoid that situation in the first place, our questionnaire is designed to help us understand you and your home in order to help us match the best possible puppy to you. We also reserve the right not to sell if we think that our pup(s) would not be a good match and you would benefit having an easier Aussie type or different breed.
